Programmes in Noszvaj 2010

Our village offers various programmes the whole of the year both for visitors and for locals.

April 5, Easter Monday

House party in the Village Museum. Baking and tasting of milk-loaf with nuts, poppy-seed and sultana. Handicraft show, puppet-show for children, folklore programme.

 






May 1-2., Saturday, Sunday

Maying on the meadow above the lake Síkfőkút 


 





May 23., Sunday,

• Whitsuntide
• Making and tasting special local cakes and pastries in the Village Museum, for children trying handicrafts, folk dance show, wine tasting






In the months July and August

• Every Thursday
o from 4 pm “Masters of craftsman” playful learning for children in the Village Museum
o from 7 pm Dinner evenings in the Restaurants of Noszvaj

• Every Friday
o from 5 pm “Let us bake something” baking traditional  pastries in the oven of the Village Museum



July 11/11 Saturday, Sunday

• Wooden Fork Day in the Fa Villa Tanya (Wooden Fork Farm). Riding programmes, traditional entertainments, archery, craft’sfair



July 18 – Aug 8, Sunday evenings 7 pm

Musical Summer Evenings in the park of the de la Motte Mansion. Performers of different kind of music go on the boards in the amphitheatre of the de la Motte Mansion on four following Sundays. 





July 24-25 Saturday-Sunday

Anna day, wake
• Saturday afternoon in the Village Museum 2-6 pm baking of strudel and pie, wine competition of the local wines, wine tasting and awards ceremony.
• from 4 pm: during baking and tasting groups of traditionalists present their show.
•  Sunday around the Síkfőkút Lake craftsmen and stall-holder offer sales, afternoon programmes for children and for entertainment






August 20, Friday

• Festive commemoration
• Bread baking and craftsmen show and practice in the Village Museum





August 28, Saturday

Plum day in the Village Museum
Cooking plum jam, baking jam filled pastries in the oven, tasting, folklore entertainments, handicraft show and sale




September 10-11 Friday –Saturday

Cellar days in Noszvaj, and Day of the Oven Baked Dishes
• Friday wine-tour along the cellar-lines in the Szomolyai and Jókai streets
• Saturday preparing dishes made in ovens at different homes, tasting of the fresh grapes and must in the garden of the de la Motte Mansion and in the Dobó street, show of traditionalist groups, fair of craftsmen, entertainment programmes, vintage meaty cabbage.
In the Village Museum strudel, pie and milk-loaf baking, wine tasting in more cellars in the village

November 13, Saturday

Celebration of the New Wine on St Martin’s Day in the Village Museum and in the Winery Thummerer.
• In the morning preparation of the special “goose-gorge” and other pastries baked in the oven, folk-music and -dance show, crafts for children.
• In the afternoon folklore programme in the Magtár Fogadó (Grange Inn), goose dishes, wine tasting and new wine presentation
• Martin’s Day Goose-supper in the Thummerer Winery
